Desire for more time.

As discussed in class, humans were built with desires and aversions to different stimuli. We desire realtionships, to be loved, to eat good food, and to rest, while we also have aversions to death, pain and stress. A lot of the time, desires and aversions go hand in hand and react based upon the other. Many stress realted aversions often result because of an insufficient amount of time to complete all the tasks one needs to complete. So more time would be something most people would desire. More time not only to complete all the necessary menial tasks in life, but maybe to add in some persoanl interests as well. Could an extra hour in the day really satisfy our desires, or should we just learn to cut out unimportant tasks?

Final Artist Statement:

Through the use of photoshop and scanned objects I have created a piece that speaks about time and how it relates to and dictates our lives. Through the contrast between the pile of things "to do" and the extra hour added to the seemingly normal click, I hope to provoke thought about the idea of actually adding an hour to our day and if that would really satisfy our desires.

I really like the concept behind your work and I think the image turned out awesome. I think I would prefer the watch face to be centered, but that may just be personal preference.....
