While exploring nature during my walks through Paynes Prairie and Lake Alice, I found beauty in how nature follows a cycle where organisms that die allow for a new life to emerge. I found many fallen trees that were dead and rotten yet had fungus, mold or insects feeding and living off its bark. This composition manifests this beauty in nature - of how nothing is ever wasted. The complementary colors, the cold blue balanced by the warm orange, emhasizes the natural harmony in the wilderness. The water and sand represent what brings life and what life ultimately becomes while the various states of the trees (standing, cut and fallen) show the progression of life unto death.
